Carving

I have now a new Tunisian cabled crochet hook… and how did I get it? how?
hmm ?

No, I didn’t buy it on e-bay, though I looked down and low…

no, I didn’t buy it in a Local Yarn Store (yeah, I figured out what the letters stood for!), and there, no need to bother searching, no way I could find one, they don’t carry that sort of beast, less know how to use it !

I grabbed a cutter, some sanding paper, a candle and a needle, and I repeatedly assaulted a pair of cabled number 8 needles that was included in a lot of skeins at Lidl (I bought 3 lots, so I could sacrifice one pair of needles ).

At the beginning I was thinking of mutilating bamboo needles but I was afraid of wasting them and I couldn’t wait to try, those cheapy plastic ones were staring at me like “what-a-you waiting for ?” and god carving them is like digging into butter !

The hook itself is not really perfect, it’s too short for my liking and the yarn doesn’t glide easily on it, maybe a little more polishing would do, but as it is a first attempt, i’m quite satisfied with it !
I don’t know if i’m going to keep the other needle as it is or melt it into a big button (as in actual real store bought cabled Tunisian hooks) ‘cause it works pretty well to crochet cables…

My first pattern for sale!

Many thanks to Marykz and to Missyboo (both met on Ravelry) who helped polish my clumsy pattern-writing abilities!

I am so excited!

Damn it !

I don't know what's wrong with me, I bought more pattern books... when I have approximately done nothing from the ones I own...

  • Crocheted!

  • Is it knitted? Nope! Crocheted! Crochet isn't just for grannies, doilies and floppy funky scarves. I am - fairly - under 50, I have a crochet hook and a yarn ball handy in my purse and I like decorating my shoulders better than my sofa.
